Gene Massion
Ocean Engineer

Gene Massion is a Senior Ocean Engineer with the Monterey Bay Aquarium Research Institute. Mr. Massion has been involved in the design, planning, engineering and installation of ocean observing systems for more than 25 years. During that time he has been involved in every aspect of the process: development of customer requirements, system engineering, detailed mechanical electrical and software design, analysis, fabrication, test, installation, commissioning and user training.

Gene has leant his expertise to ORCA engineers on numerous occasions and is delighted to be serving the organization in a more formal capacity. His primary goal is to assist the ORCA engineers develop high-quality water quality sensors that revolutionize water monitoring and improve coastal ecosystem management.
