ENCOURAGING BETTER LAND PRACTICES Since its inception, Dr. Widder and the ORCA team have achieved exciting progress in using the latest science and technology to develop low-cost solutions for the analysis and monitoring of our polluted waterways. We are proud of our accomplishments, but are fully aware that our work is not complete until we can turn our scientific data into conservation actions.
We are addressing that goal on several fronts - including our Land to Sea Initiative. With rare exceptions, people do not intentionally cause water pollution. Pollution is an unintended consequence of many of our activities of daily life - and in reality, we all contribute to pollution. ORCA's Land to Sea Initiative focuses on changing the things we do on land that leads to water pollution. In most cases these changes are simple, inexpensive and do not impact quality of life. ORCA will be partnering with local and state government agencies, schools, other conservation organizations and the community as we grow our Land to Sea initiative.
ORCA IS DEDICATED TO THE PROTECTION & RESTORATION OF AQUATIC ECOSYSTEMS &
THE SPECIES THEY SUSTAIN THROUGH THE DEVELOPMENT OF INNOVATIVE TECHNOLOGIES
& SCIENCE BASED CONSERVATION ACTION.
PLEASE HELP SUPPORT OUR MISSION.
"ORCA’s Kilroy is
brilliant. The whole concept of a low-cost monitoring network is critical for understanding the ocean so we can better protect it. -
