TED MISSION BLUE VOYAGE
Dr. Widder Gives Prestigious TED Talk In The Galapagos Islands Dr. Edie Widder, award winning scientist and founder of the Ocean Research & Conservation Association (ORCA), participated in the TED Mission Blue Voyage in the Galapagos focused on ocean health and conservation. Dr. Widder's TED presentation, recorded from the deck of the ship Endeavour, is now available on the web. The cruise was documented by Fisher Stevens, 2010 Academy award winner for “The Cove”.
Dr. Widder received the prestigious invitation to give a TED talk due to her long track record of pioneering work in marine exploration and conservation including inventing new ocean technologies, discovering new species and ocean phenomena, and founding ORCA to preserve the ocean she loves.
Dr. Widder’s talk is part of the TED Mission Blue Voyage. She was joined by leading thinkers in ocean conservation. The presentation is now available on www.ted.com.
